About Me

My art technique is contemporary 2-D mixed media painting. I use paint, photography, technology, fine art printmaking and any materials that work for me. My technique is very painterly, where color and space are important. My paintings are a process not planned rather informed by my life experiences and my love for exploration and learning. I either use vintage images or my own photography. My subject matters are a reflection of my ideas, and interests They often are a metaphor for life, with all its imperfections, irony, and humor I most often work in a series to explore these ideas. I use images from the past and present as icons to help create a visual language. I have traveled much of the world, lived in many different countries, speak different languages studied these cultures and learned. I hold a BS from the University of Vermont and returned to school to study fine art and graphic design. These have helped shape my unique perspective and enriched my sense of creativity.

Henry Moore
"Born Henry Spencer Moore - England - July 30, 1898 / Died - UK - August 31, 1986
Popular Henry Moore works include contemporary sculpture like "Four Piece Composition, 1934", "Recumbent Figure, 1938", "Reclining Figure, 1951", and "The Arch, 1969".
A Quote by Moore

" All art should have a certain mystery and should make demands on the spectator. Giving a sculpture or a drawing too explicit a title takes away part of that mystery so that the spectator moves on to the next object, making no effort to ponder the meaning of what he has just seen. Everyone thinks that he or she looks but they don't really, you know."

Something to ponder.
